established in april 2006, the center for science, technology, and education policy (cstep) standards as a prominent research and educational center at tsinghua university. cstep is also one of the soft science research bases authorized by the ministry of education (moe). cstep has a dual mission: nurturing future leaders in public policy research and management, and offering expertise as a think tank to advise both the central and local governments on science, technology and education policies in china.
cstep pursues this mission through five key research areas: public policy theory, intelligent society governance, innovation for a sustainable prosperity, quantitative studies on policy document, and educational economy and management. over the years, cstep has garnered a strong academic reputation and significant social influence through its theoretical research, practical insights, and talent development initiatives.
