abstract:
siemens has over 2000 rd-engineers and researcher in china in over 20 rd-hubs. what is the experience of siemens setting up this global r&d network? what are the necessary steps in terms of organizational development in r&d in terms of setup, human resources, internal and external collaboration? what are the typical challenges in setting up a global r&d organization and how to overcome them but also what are the opportunities siemens sees in participating in today’s china innovation landscape.
bio of speaker:
prof. uwe rueckl majored in applied computer science and is working in china since 2009. since aug. 2012, he is head of research in siemens corporate technology.
he joined siemens since 1998, first as project manager, architect and sw-developer in siemens energy automation nuremberg, germany. from 2005, he was department manager – head of protection applications in siemens energy automation, berlin, germany.
since 2009, prof. uwe rueckl started his career in china, with the position of r&d manager in siemens power automation nanjing, managing 135 r&d engineers. in the year 2012, he joined siemens corporate technology china, leading more than 200 researchers in research and technology center.
prof. uwe rueckl has 16 years of experience in industrial research and rd-management, and more than 5 years’ experience in china. he is also very experienced in product portfolio and strategy planning for energy automation and smart grid.
